Build & Design

With the benefit of hindsight, it’s evident that the JBL Flip 3 was the turning point in the development of the company’s design philosophy. If you remember the Flip 2, you’ll know that it was essentially just a piece of polyethylene.

Splashproof and improving the grip were two of the primary goals when designing this Flip. A connecting thread for hanging from locations also came in handy while hiking and in the bathroom during a shower, where it could be used to dry my hair. As the Flip 4 is newer, it has additional features, such as an IPX7 waterproof design instead of a splashproof cover.

The Flip 3 paved the way for the Flip 4 in terms of button arrangement, as the two have nearly identical buttons and functionalities. That being said, it wasn’t exactly the same as the previous model, which had all of its buttons arranged in a linear fashion (or the side according to how you orient the speaker). They are incorporated in the speaker fabric and also on a hard plastic part that is attached to the trunk of Flip 3.

Battery Life

The Flip 3’s extended battery life was another area in which JBL excelled with the Flip 3. It was a vast improvement over the previous Flip 2. In terms of playback time, you’ll get about 9.5 hours, which is more than enough to get you through most of the day. It has a 3000 mAh battery. It’s worth noting, though, that the new Flip 4 has a few extra hours and can playback 12 hours of normal playback.

Sound Quality

In comparison to the previous Flip 2, the JBL Flip 3 features a completely new design.

For a long time, the JBL Flip 2 was one of our favorite speakers, thanks to its low price and excellent sound. We were curious about the way the Flip 3 would endure to its predecessor and weren’t surprised at all that in addition, it sounds very best for the price.

For a speaker of this size, the lows sound rich and deep (and even some that certainly are a little bigger). It could definitely be felt in the event that you stick it down on a table and allow external bass radiators to visit work. Although Action Bronson’s Baby Blue has a noticeable bass, it’s not overbearing.

The mids were a bit forward but sufficient to create vocals and guitars a bit better to hear and don’t ruin the knowledge at all. Even background synths weren’t obtrusively hidden by other aspects of the reduced end.

Highs maxing it out can make you sound harsh, but if you keep the volume down just a smidge, it’s ideal. In Cinder and Smoke by Iron & Wine, the screechy slides of your guitar can make your ears improve a little bit in the event that you lower the volume just a little it’s barely noticeable.

Conclusion

Overall all, it appears that the JBL Flip 3 is a solid speaker. It’s not the kind that you carry in your bag or put at the center of a party. But, it looks stunning on the well-managed desk, or in an elegantly designed drawing-room.
